Key Responsibilities

• Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Performance Optimization: Write and tune complex SQL queries to ensure maximum performance and efficiency of database operations.
• Database Design: Assist with database design, data modeling, and the implementation of database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, database administrators (DBAs), and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Data Management: Implement and manage data integration (ETL) processes for data migration and transformation, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain technical documentation for database designs, code, and processes, adhering to established development standards and best practices.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, provide technical support, and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
• Experience: Proven experience (often 3-5+ years) in PL/SQL development or a similar role.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) concepts.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database tools such as Quest SQL Navigator or Toad.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
  • Exposure to Unix/Linux and shell scripting can be an advantage.
